2019 Investments Announced

Victoria plays with color forms at her Head Start program in East Bayside.
She and her family are excited for her to begin Kindergarten this fall.

Since our launch in 2017, Women United has invested nearly $360,000 to advance single moms and their children in East Bayside. Our strong commitment to this community and Project WIN families has allowed our group to focus our objectives and align our goals.

Our ambitious 2019 fundraising goal of $225,000 includes continued investment in Project WIN, allowing us to deepen our impact on those families.

2019 INVESTMENTS

PROJET WIN: $107,415 Investment: Women United will continue investing in Project WIN for the upcoming year to continue the good work in East Bayside, ensuring single mothers and their children have the resources, support, and guidance they need to be successful.

SUMMER CAMP: $25,000 Investment: Women United will invest in summer camp experiences for Project WIN children allowing children in our Project WIN families to experience the joy and opportunity to participate in full-day programs and activities that prevent summer slide and further educational development. This investment helps alleviate the burden of these challenging costs for families already struggling to make ends meet.

SMCC SCHOLARSHIP: $18,000 (initial) Investment:  With a partnership through Southern Maine Community College, Women United will create a scholarship fund for Project WIN women and their children and promote college aspirations, inspiring other potential Project WIN participants to engage in the program.
